Gordon Leroy Kittelson, of Owatonna, MN. died on Nov. 21, 2019 peacefully surrounded by family in his home.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Owatonna, presided by Rev. John Sauer. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the funeral mass at church starting at 10:00 AM.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1936 in Albert Lea, MN. to George and Helen Kittelson. Gordy began a 37-year career in 1956 with the Wilson Meat Packing Co. in Albert Lea, working nights in the stockyards.
He married Patricia Ann Caron of Owatonna on April 27th, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna. In 1974 he was transferred to Monmouth, IL. as an Industrial Engineer Manager, and in 1986 to the Marshall, MO. plant. Retired in 1991. Gordy and Pat then moved to Lake Winnibigosh in northern MN., where they enjoyed life by the lake. Gordy worked for the U.S. Forest Service under the Senior Employment Program from 1993-1998. He and Pat then moved to Owatonna in November of 2003 and enjoyed country living.
Gordy is survived by their two sons Paul (Donna) of Keizer, OR and Wayne (Angie) of Albert Lea, MN, their two beautiful, compassionate, well-educated daughters, Pam (Dave) Shane of Black Canyon City, AZ. and Wanda (Robert) Roenfeldt of Boca Raton, FL; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, two brothers Duane (Darlene) of Tower, MN, and Roger (Baker) of Forest Lake, MN.
Gordy was preceded in death by his wife, Pat in 2014, his parents, and infant daughter.
