Steven C. Holst, 64
Steven C. Holst of Medford formerly of Annandale died May 30, 2019 at his home in Medford. Mass of Christian Burial is set for Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church in Medford. A reception and fellowship will follow the mass at Christ the King.
Steve was born April 11, 1955 in Owatonna the son of Chris and Marie (Kasper) Holst. Steve attended high school in Medford and graduated in 1973. Following high school, Steve worked for several local businesses which included Medford Foundry, Reserve Supply, and Careers Training. It was then that he found his passion at Camp Friendship in Annandale, Minnesota. He worked there for more than 40 years with people who became his second family. He was a member of the Owatonna Jaycees and the Medford Knights of Columbus. Steve was a world traveler throughout his life with Friendship Ventures through Camp Friendship. He traveled the world, but his favorite place that he returned to several times was The Dude Ranch in Arizona. Although he loved to travel, he thoroughly enjoyed returning home and spending time with family and friends. Steve was a sports enthusiast which include the Vikings, Gophers Football and Minnesota Twins. He will be missed his siblings Janis (Jim) Simon of Faribault, Jim (Shellie Thompson) Holst of Medford and Carol (Steve) Olson of Hawley, Mn. His nephews Dan (Paula) and Andrew (Sharin) Simon, Scott (Samantha Lechleitner) Holst, Tom (Ashley) Holst, Joel Holst, Jordan and Dylan Olson. Great niece Lily Lechleitner and Great nephews Rory and Gavin Holst. He will also be greatly missed by his Camp Friendship Family. Steve is preceded in death by his parents Chris and Marie, sister Jean Holst and sister-in-law Diane Holst. Donations can be made to Camp Friendship or the Donor’s Choice.
