October 9, 1940 ~ February 29, 2020 (age 79)

Obituary

Robert F. Larson, age 79, of Owatonna, passed away February 29, 2020 at Koda Living Community. Robert Francis Larson, son of Marguerite and Adolph Larson was born on October 9, 1940, in Redwing, MN.  Robert graduated from Medford High School in 1958 and enlisted in the Navy in October of that same year and was stationed at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia. Robert came home from the Navy in October of 1961. He was united in marriage to Joyce Sawyer on May 5th, 1962. Robert and Joyce farmed in Steele County for their entire marriage. Many a day was spent cultivating the fields for corn, soybeans, and hay. He also raised various animals: chickens, pigs, sheep, dairy cows, and steers. Robert loved his children more than the farm and would always stop what he was doing that day to be in the house when they got off the school bus. He always took the time to be present for those he loved whether it was his own children or his nieces and nephews.

He is now reunited with his loving wife of 52 years, Joyce; his parents, Marguerite and Adolph; his brother, George; and his brother-in-law, Harlan. Robert is survived by his sister, Jo Matz; his sister-in-law, Jean Larson; his children and their spouses: Dawn and Mike Beyer (Northfield); Shelly and Chris Marsh (Indianola, IA); Cathy and Brian Mikel (Lonsdale); David and Rose Larson (Owatonna); his loving grandchildren: Jorie Beyer, Bruce Marsh (and Lauren Mallinger), Anna (and Marcus) Tschauner, Emma Marsh (and Garrett Lies), Zach, Carolyn, and Ryan Mikel, Sierra and Savannah Larson; and his great grandson, Emmett Tschauner.
